Important Information on Student Finance

Student Finance Introduction

Students considering going to university will need to apply for Student Finance to cover their tuition and help with their living costs. This happens in Year 13 once the student has submitted their UCAS application, although many students like to research what they are entitled to prior to this to help with the Post-18 decision making process.

Students can start their Student Finance applications in the January or February before they go to university. They should aim to have completed their applications by the end of May to ensure their money is ready for the start of the university term in September/October.

More information and the Student Finance application can be found at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance.
