Turning Potential into Performance
Every day, Framwellgate School Durham’s goal of ‘turning potential into performance’ means that students are given opportunities to explore their interests, extend their understanding and demonstrate their talents. By doing so, they learn to value education and develop important life skills.
As individuals, we expect students to appreciate that learning takes commitment and self-discipline. As members of the school we expect them to respect others and make positive contributions to their community.

We aim to achieve this through commitment to:

Quality Provision
We will provide exceptional curriculum opportunities, learning experiences and personal support and guidance.

Outstanding Outcomes
We will set high standards for academic and personal achievement: our students will have high aspirations, make excellent progress and develop the skills and qualities needed for further study and employment.

Positive Relationships
We will set high standards of personal conduct and engagement with the school and its wider community. We will be a school students are proud to represent.

Framwellgate School Durham Students support several charities each year. For more information, visit our dedicated charities page through the following link:

Promoting British Values

FSD is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all its students. As a school we recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation is no different from safeguarding against any other vulnerability.

All staff are expected to uphold and promote the fundamental principles of British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

On 1 July 2015 the Prevent duty (section 26) of The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015 came into force. This duty places the responsibility on local authorities to have due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.

As part of Framwellgate School Durham’s commitment to safeguarding and child protection we fully support the government’s Prevent Strategy.
