  • Access to table areas at lunchtime for all year groups.

The CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals are the UK’s oldest and most prestigious children’s book awards. Often described by authors and illustrators as ‘the one they want to win’, they are the gold standard in children’s literature.

We are shadowing the judges as they read and reread the 8 shortlisted Carnegie titles over the next few weeks. Why not keep track of our progress by checking out our webpage ?

The winners will be announced on Monday 18th June, and our shadowers will be watching the ceremony via livestreaming. Our favourites so far are After the Fire, by Will Hill; and; The Hate U Give, by Angie Thomas.  We can’t wait to see who wins!

Visit the library from home!
