Extra Curricular Information and Activities

Extra Curricular Activities

The aim of the school is to provide our students with a full range of opportunities beyond the curriculum to develop their skills and interests and complement the passions they have outside school. We identify student interests in a range of categories, looking to provide clubs, competitions, visits and outside speakers that can enrich and inspire. We have altered our school day to encourage extra-curricular provision and development of wider student skills in STEP time. We have also developed our student leadership programme to allow progression from Year 7 through to Year 13.

In the News

Psychology club runs on Wednesday lunchtimes; each week we take a different aspect of psychology and try out a little taster activity. This week was biopsychology and we were making neurones out of sweets and biscuits (and eating some too). We will soon be analysing dreams!

STEM club runs every Thursday of week 1 until 4pm in B25. Students have already started to build a mosaic of Albert Einstein from 225 Rubiks Cubes!

We hope to hang this on the wall in our very own Einstein’s Dining Hall!

The Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Duke of Edinburgh Award offers fantastic opportunities for lots of different activities. Participating students meet every Thursday lunchtime in the Sports Centre. Any student currently in Year 9 who would like to get involved next year should speak to Mr Boreland for more information.
