Ofsted inspected Framwellgate School Durham on 1st and 2nd May 2018. Their report and a letter from the Headteacher are shown on this website (click here) and will be available on Ofsted’s own website by Friday 15th June. The school had previously been inspected in 2015 when it was judged as Requires Improvement. Headteacher, Andy Byers stated, “I am delighted that this report demonstrates the significant improvements which have taken place in the school since then, but particularly since September. I must pay tribute to my new senior leadership team, many of whom have only been in post since January 2018, the staff, our parents, and in particular, our students, who have embraced the changes we have introduced this year. This report confirms the excellent start we have made, and I am confident that we will meet our target of being graded Outstanding within two years.” The inspection team identified the sixth form, student behaviour, pastoral support and leadership as particular strengths and noted that teaching, learning and assessment were improving rapidly.
